Bananas for your Health 

Yellow bananas are a good source of potassium and vitamin b6 and prebiotic fiber that support the growth of healthy gut bacteria called bifidobacterium. Bifidobaterium are an important part of the gut microbiome that can positively enhance, digestion, and absorption of nutrients, metabolism, the gut brain axis, and the immune system.


Did you know that green bananas are a source of resistant starch?  Resistant starch is a type of starch that our bodies can't digest, but feed the healthy bacteria in our gut microbiome and reduce inflammation and reducing risk of colon cancer  by helping the bacteria produce short chain fatty acids called butyrate and propionate. Resistant starch also helps to manage blood sugar and weight, and even reduces cholesterol.

Go Bananas for your Spirit

Although it is not entirely known how the phrase "go bananas" came to mean going a little wild or crazy with excitement.  Most speculate that it has to do with the way monkeys reacted to being given a banana as a treat.
